People with the victim mindset will often blame others for the consequences of their actions. Never does it cross their mind that their own wrongdoings brought about their comeuppance.

A 27-year-old would have almost received the gaming console of his dreams if he had been kinder to his girlfriend. The original poster is Mike's 26-year-old girlfriend, who recently found out his true opinions of her.

OP was 18 years old when she dated a guy named Jake. They met online, and OP figured out after three months that they weren't compatible.

She dated a guy from work named Adam shortly after that. At that time, OP didn't know Jake and Adam were actually friends.

She did not date Jake long enough to meet his friend group. OP took a break from dating for some time after learning of the fact.

Two years later, she met her current boyfriend, Mike, and they have been together since. OP didn't hide her dating history from Mike, and he reassured her that none of what happened bothered him.

OP learned otherwise during Mike's recent birthday party. She showed up with the PS5 Mike had been dreaming about.

OP even dipped into her own savings to buy the only gift her boyfriend wanted. They have been together for four years, so the price of the console didn't matter much to OP.

Mike's best girl friend said, “I wish I was a thot so I could afford a PS5 too.”

Jessica walked away before OP can question what she meant. But she made Mike explain.

OP was done listening after that. She took the PS5 and walked out of the party without saying a word. She got a refund for the console, but Mike and his friends have been harassing her for being the biggest a**hole.

An older commented that OP's past is not nearly messy enough to warrant that kind of judgment. Slut-shaming is such an outdated idea anyway, and OP missed the qualifications by a long mile.

Mike is not really upset that they hurt OP's feelings, his only concern right now is the PS5 he almost had but lost due to his own narrow-mindedness

He and Jessica looked for Jake. They saw their photos and decided these guys must be rich, therefore OP must only date rich dudes. Their reasoning is flawed because Mike is broke.

Their friend group reached a consensus that OP only dates rich guys because it's "what women do."

OP asked why he didn't defend her to his friends once he realized she wasn't a "thot." Mike said he was too embarrassed to defend her.

OP decided to end things with Mike. Jessica also said that she and Mike should hook up in the future to get revenge on OP.

Mike said OP should forgive him because he was gallant enough to tell her the truth after all these years. OP thanked him for everything including dirtying her good name and promptly hung up.

OP didn't deserve such harsh judgment from her boyfriend's friends. What were they doing discussing her dating history anyway?

Do they have truly boring lives that they have nothing better to do than talk about OP? OP should take herself on a nice day out using the PS5 money and make sure Mike sees photos of her living her life to the fullest without him.
